Hyperdontia is a dental condition characterized by an excess number of teeth beyond the usual complement of 32 in the human dentition. While most people have 32 permanent teeth, including four incisors, two canines, four premolars, and six molars in each dental arch, individuals with hyperdontia may develop additional teeth, a condition known as supernumerary teeth. These extra teeth can appear in various locations within the oral cavity, such as the front or back of the mouth, and may take on different forms, ranging from small, malformed structures to fully functional teeth.
